WORDS

I believe that our ancestors are watching us, and that we carry in us the weight of their experiences going back thousands of years. When I make art I can give space to my own ancestors, and in so doing old memories both positive and negative are allowed to flow.  I feel joy and the benevolent mechanisms at work in our collective subconscious.  Emotions are unlocked and processed through color, line and shape.  At the center of all of it is the lesson that we are one being, and that my ancestors are your ancestors.  Let us appreciate all they have done by giving them something fun to look at.  I hope you can find the space too; if you are anything like me it will help you breathe better, and help you feel better.

Let us think of our experience on this planet as an endless forest of family trees whose branches and twigs intertwine. You and I, the living, we are the trunks; connecting all of that interwoven intelligence and love to the earth, but we cannot see. We do not have the perspective or the glorious view of those at the top.
When I settle down and start making art, an acrobatic little squirrel that lives in my trunk gains access to the whole of all of it, joyously and carelessly, but skillfully exploring every bit of every tree. You have a squirrel too, and when we communicate or collaborate, mine and yours play at the top ... and it's a lot of fun.
Let my art act as a sign on the wall reminding you to have a good time, retain your own divinity, and maybe even inspire you to find the space to activate your squirrel. It is awesome. You are awesome. We are awesome.
